National Commercial Agreement (NCA) Productions

Under current NCA terms, all Producers are required to participate in the Accident on Set program for productions within provinces or territories where the program is available.

Accident on Set premiums are automatically added to all productions in provinces and territories where workers' compensation benefits are NOT mandatory for eligible performers and stunt performers.

No application is required (for commercials shot in Canada).

Offshore Productions

The NCA requires that for offshore productions, Producers must provide ACTRA performers and stunt performers with Accident on Set coverage.

The Accident on Set program underwrites and provides health, disability and accident coverage if a performer is injured on a set location of an insured production. Once AFBS accepts your application, coverage may be extended outside of Canada. Accident on Set covers times when the performer is either on or travelling to and from set.

For offshore productions, Accident on Set requires Out-of-Canada Travel Emergency Medical Insurance for ACTRA performers only.

To obtain Accident on Set and/or Travel Emergency Medical insurance for your travelling ACTRA performers and stunt performers, complete the Out-of-Canada Medical Proposal Form. This form lets you apply for both insurance coverages at once. Download, complete and submit the form to Jennifer_Nixon@ajg.com.
