Independent Production Agreement (IPA)

For IPA Productions, the insurance premium is calculated as 1% of Insurable Earnings.

Insurable Earnings are made up of all performer earnings accrued/paid during the production, up to a maximum of $100,000 per performer.

Premium payment is automatically administered through major production payroll houses, which will calculate and remit the required premium monthly. Producers should confirm coverage with their payroll house.

For eligible Deferral Productions, the insurance premium is calculated as:

  • Performer: $10 per performer, per day.
  • Stunt performer/stunt coordinator/performer engaged in a risk performance: $50 per performer, per day.

Minimum premium: $50.

Premium payment remitted directly to AFBS on application.

Low Budget Guideline Productions

For Low Budget Guideline Productions with a budget of $100,000 or less, the insurance premium is calculated as:

  • Performer: $11 per performer, per day.
  • Stunt performer/stunt coordinator/performer engaged in a risk performance: $55 per performer, per day.
